Broadly speaking, Liddle's work portrays the essence of the contemporary baroque experience through kitsch visual language. Creating audacious fantasties through childlike (subtly erotic) imagery and sculpture, the viewer is coaxed into loading these pieces with a sense of character. This garish, somewhat unnerving, idealism raises questions of identity and the objest, gestault theory, and contemporary consumption.
